LSG-HDFE Snake Grip perform the same function as the standard LSG Snake Grips which is wire pulling grips using an existing cable or wire rope to pull a new one on a drilling rig or similar platforms. However the two LSG-HDFE models are designed for larger wire rope or cable with a range of 1-3/8″ to 2″ and 2″ to 2-3/4″ in diameter.

The two snake grip models, each comes standard as a set containing two flexible pulling eye grips and one greasable heavy duty ball bearing swivel. According to the models listed:

LSG-HDFE-1-3/8-2 — The 2 HDFE Flex Eye pulling grips in this model have a cable diameter range of 1-3/8′ to 2″ and are rated at 9,600 lbs work load. The ball bearing swivel is a greasable HD-2-SZ swivel rated at 12,000 lbs. WL. The swivel and grips need to be assembled before use. The combined assembly work load rating is 9,600 lbs. (the lesser of the two).

LSG-HDFE-2-2-3/4 — The 2 HDFE Flex Eye pulling grips in this model have a cable diameter range of 2″ to 2-3/4″ and are rated at 11,500 lbs work load. The ball bearing swivel is a greasable HD-2-SZ swivel rated at 12,000 lbs. WL. The swivel and grips need to be assembled before use. The combined assembly work load rating is 11,500 lbs. (the lesser of the two).

The HDFE Flex Eye Series grips that are included with the LSG-HDFE Snake Grips are powerful for pulling big conductors and will travel smoothly through pulleys. It is made of the highest quality, flexible aircraft strand steel, integrated with a new flexible eye. The eye is composed of braided strands (rather than being rigid) to give it maximum flexibility in going around angle pulls or through small openings.

Overall LSG-HDFE Snake Grip Assembly Work Load (WL) is Rated based on the WL of the grips used.
